Fun Information: This King Tut Coffin Jeweled Box is a studded painted resin recreation of the late Egyptian King Tutankhamen's sarcophagus or burial tomb. King Tutankhamen lived from 1341 BC - 1323 BC and reigned as king of Egypt during the time period known as the Eighteenth dynasty. He controlled Egypt from 1333 BC - 1324 BC with his power extending throughout the era of the New Kingdom. King Tut was initially born with the name, Tutankhaten translating to, Living Image of Aten. However, after King Tutankhamen became pharaoh of Egypt his name changed to Tutankhamen translating to, Living Image of Amen-Ra. Amen-Ra was the Egyptian sun god who was revered as the mightiest and most powerful of Egyptian gods. King Tut was just nine years old when he gained his position of pharaoh and led Egypt for roughly ten years. King Tut was one of the few Egyptian pharaohs seen as a god and with a cult-like following while in still in control. King Tutankhamen's tomb site was also the most complete ancient Egyptian royal tomb site of an Egyptian pharaoh ever found.
