Fun Information: Samurai-Hiroki depicts a triumphant samurai standing proud upon a rock; Samurai were feudal Japanese warriors that served under the emperor. Samurai strictly practiced Bushido, “the Way of the Warrior” and would even conduct “seppuku” in order to avoid the dishonor capture. Seppuku was a suicidal strike performed in order to avoid an ignoble death after being captured. Samurai developed during the late 8th – early 9th century to enable the emperor’s expansion of rule and conquest. As well, the samurai became the emperor’s preferred method for putting down rebellions.
