This Lg. Tut Coffin Box is a painted resin recreation of the late Egyptian King Tutankhamen's sarcophagus. King Tut lived from 1341 BC - 1323 BC and was an Egyptian king during the time period known as the Eighteenth dynasty. He reigned supreme over Egypt from 1333 BC - 1324 BC with his rule extending throughout the period of the New Kingdom. King Tutankhamen was born with the name, Tutankhaten translating to, Living Image of Aten. However, after Tutankhamen became pharaoh of Egypt he earned the name Tutankhamen translating to, Living Image of Amen-Ra. Amen-Ra was the Egyptian sun god who was seen as the most powerful and head of all other Egyptian gods. King Tut was only nine years old when he assumed the throne and led his nation for roughly ten years. King Tut was one of the few Egyptian kings viewed as a god and with a cult-like following while in power. King Tutankhamen's tomb site was also the most pristine ancient Egyptian royal burial site of an Egyptian king ever discovered.
